Treatment Methods for Hair Loss in Women

When it comes to hair loss treatment for women, they have a more narrow selection of methods to choose from than men do.  However, there are also a much smaller percentage of women who experience hair loss than men.

The most common type of hair loss in women occurs just after pregnancy.  This happens due to the amount of estrogen increasing in the body following childbirth, altering the hair growth and loss process.  Hair loss experienced due to pregnancy is not uncommon, and treatment is typically to be patient, as hair will return to its normal growth cycle without much delay.

Although not as common as in men, women do experience hair loss.  One type of treatment is a topical medication to promote new hair growth commonly known as Rogaine, or Minoxidil.  Most women only use the lesser strength of 2% to treat their hair loss.  The other treatment option that women have is a surgical option called stereoscopic follicular unit hair transplantation.  This procedure produces entirely natural-looking, permanent results.  The way it works is by replacing the hair follicles that are experiencing hair loss with hairs that are healthy.  Within a few months, hair begins to grow in its own, natural way.

It is important to identify what the cause is for the hair loss, as it could be masking a bigger problem.  Contact Pistone Hair Restoration for a consultation.  Here, professionals will evaluate your situation, identify the cause for the hair loss, and go over the treatment options that would suit you best.
