Hair piece solvents are made to clean and maintain the wigs and toupees.  Which solvent you would use to clean your wig and remove the tape and adhesive will depend on what your wig is made of.  Solvents range from basic formulas and alcohol based solvents to citrus based, non-alcohol based cleaners.

Hair pins, wig pins, and hairstyling clips are another way to secure your wig or toupee into place.  These accessories poke through the hair piece and into the head block.  They are primarily used for creating, maintaining, styling, cleaning, and repairing hair pieces and wigs.
