Today there are countless crèmes and shampoos that claim that they have unlocked the secret to baldness. Clogged pores. That these pores can become so ‘congested’ that they can no longer grow hair, and that all is needed is a chosen product to clear this congestion and promote hair regrowth. Unfortunately for people who have wasted their money on such products, they don’t work. Baldness has nothing to do with the amount of oil buildup in the follicles of the scalp. It has everything to do with a hormone that converts testosterone in the body into DHT (dihydrotestosterone). This DHT is a vital component of fetal development but certain people who pre-disposed genetically find this DHT buildup all the way into adulthood. And it is DHT that shrinks and damages hair follicles to the point where they can no longer regenerate themselves, not clogged pores.

Unless a product you purchase deals with the cause of baldness, (Propecia which blocks the conversion of testosterone into DHT), or deals with the effects, (Rogaine which encourages damaged follicles to grow back), or even cosmetically disguises your hair loss (such as a hair replacement or hair transplant) you will be wasting your money on yet another shim-sham item that promises the impossible. Namely to cure baldness.
