The Link Between MSM And Hair Loss

MSM, or methylsulfonylmethane, is an herb said to treat hair loss, especially in women.  This herb contains a lot of sulfur, which is an important element to maintaining and developing healthy hair. 

MSM can be found in our bodies, in the food we eat, including milk, coffee, vegetables, and teas.  It is a sulfur compound, which means it helps to maintain structural proteins.  It also works to form keratin proteins, which are the type of protein that create hair fibers and follicles. 

As with most herbal remedies, there has been no solid evidence or studies conducted that state that MSM will cure all of your hair loss troubles.  However, some patients have found positive and hopeful results.  When looking into using Methylsulfonylmethane as a treatment for hair loss, exercise caution.  Although taking MSM in high dosages has never produced negative results, it may not produce any positive results either.  If you have tried other remedies that have not worked for you, it can’t hurt to try this natural treatment.
