1.) It is important to limit physical activity for at least one week following your hair transplantation. All contact sports should be avoided for at least two weeks post-surgery. Heavy lifting and bending over should also be avoided for several days following the surgery.
2.) Do not shampoo scalp for forty eight hours after the surgery. When you do resume washing your hair, for the first two weeks, be gentle and rinse with low-pressure, warm water.
3.) Avoid the sun for several months. If you must be in the sun, remember to wear a hat for protection.
4.) Apply ice packs to the forehead for two or three days after the surgery. This should be done as much as possible in the beginning to help reduce swelling.
5.) Refrain from taking any medication that contains aspirin or ibuprofen. These medicines can cause bleeding, therefore take Tylenol or another alternative for at least three days as a substitute.
6.) Be certain to prop up your head as much as possible. It is especially important to prop head up while sleeping. Use two or three pillows the first few nights following the surgery.
7.) Do not drink any alcohol for the first three days that follow the hair restoration procedure.
8.) One week following the surgery, return to your doctor. This is when your stitches will be removed. Small scabs from the procedure will be disappearing at abaout this time.
9.) Hair growth will begin approximately three to four months after your hair transplant surgery.
