New Jersey Tattoo Laser Surgery |

There may be no better remedy for unwanted tattoos than laser surgery. But what does laser surgery for tattoos actually involve? Can laser surgery fix all tattoos? Are there some tattoos that prove resistant to laser surgery? And is it right for you?
Before the 1990’s tattoo removal was limited to work on the epidermis, or primary skin layer. Techniques like excision, which surgically removed the tattooed skin and closed it up with stitches, and dermabrasion, which scraped the layer of skin off, were both painful and susceptible to infection. They also didn’t look very good.
But then in the 90’s laser surgery for tattoos became a reality. By using pulses of laser light, instead of a surgeon’s scalpel, laser surgery could break up the ink on the dermis, or secondary layer of skin, and allow the ink to be transported away by the bloodstream. The large size of the ink molecule in this dermis layer is the reason tattoos are permanent in the first place. Laser surgery for tattoos just simply makes them “un-permanent.”
But as with any surgical procedure laser tattoo removal can’t guarantee results and it can usually take from 6-36 months for the whole process to conclude. The rate of effectiveness in using laser surgical techniques for tattoo removal depends on many factors. For instance, colors like black are rather easily removed, while colors like turquoise can virtually impossible to remove. But that being said, for the most part, New Jersey laser surgery for tattoos is a rather pain-free and effective process.
But is it the best course of action for you? The other procedures like excision or dermabrasion might better guarantee the removal of the tattoo; unfortunately they are prone to making the skin look much worse than the original tattoo ever did. Choosing New Jersey laser surgery for tattoo removal is a personal choice and one that should be considered with all the available information.
