Which Baldness Remedy is right for you?

Man has been seeking a remedy for baldness for thousands of years. But the plain truth is that until the 1980’s none of the many remedies for baldness actually worked, save for Hair Transplants, which were so technologically crude and the sections of hair removed so large, that their unnatural look instantly inspired the term ’plug.’ Products that claim a cure for baldness are quite simply false. But there are remedies.

In the 80’s, a buzz began to develop about a possible baldness treatment called Rogaine. This prescription topical solution when applied to the scalp could stop hair loss and in some instances actually help shrunken hair follicles produce new hairs. Unfortunately it did not work for everybody and was slightly inconvenient in its application form of a crème.

The popularity of Rogaine was only eclipsed by the emergence of Propecia, a prescription-pill medication that was originally used for men dealing with an enlarged prostate. Propecia, like Rogaine, could prevent further hair loss and was in some ways more effective than Rogaine if used in the early stages of baldness. Remedies like these, unfortunately, only work as long as the medication is being taken.
