What Are Photo Facials

Photo Facials are a type of skin rejuvenation that makes skin appear more vibrant and youthful.  Because aging brings dullness, visible lines, and other changes to your skin, some type of skin therapy is often needed to maintain your youthful appearance. 

Some problems that photo facials help to control include dilated blood vessels, blushing, facial flushing, skin discolorations, and freckles.  The results from the photo facial method prove to increase overall youthfulness and brilliance to the skin, as well as diminish visible lines, scars, and wrinkles.  

The method of photo facials works by using intense pulsed light (IPL).  The first step is gel being applied to the area needing treatment.  Then the IPL piece is placed to your skin.  This piece will pulse light and energy to diminish the imperfections of the skin.  The pulsed light is controlled by a computer system that controls the energy and light wavelengths.  The treatment typically takes about fifteen or twenty minutes to complete.  Depending on the severity of the problem and the desired results, four to six photo facial sessions are usually needed to satisfy patients.
